ahahaha

I know I've already posted about Hipster Puppies, but this totally made me crack up today (for if you've been able to watch treme on HBO and know anything slightly about New Orleans culture, you'll know why I find this funny..)

hipsterpuppies:

haruki sure has opinions on treme

Side note one: the wine glass in the picture w/ Haruki is also one of the Bama household's often used red wine glasses

Side note two: Jazz Fest in Nola is in full swing, meaning work is crazy and super tiring.  Mr. Bama and I were able to sneak away from the insanity of everything to attend a concert at Tipitina's: a spectaular, cozy music venue/ "bar" that if you visit New Orleans you must visit.  Its just wayy too important.

Hope everyone's Thursday went well and you're looking forward to the weekend!  All Hail Friday!!

oh you naughty blogger, you

yes yes, I know I've been shamelessly MIA since Easter.  Yet I have a wonderful excuse: I am finally gainfully employed.  I think two Aggie "Whoop"s and a kind of lame Jersey Shore fist pump are in order with this news.  I had applied for a position at a local clothing boutique a few weeks ago and then was offered a job last week.  I've been absent from blog-world because its been a 6 1/2 hour-a-day job that's been non-stop on your feet, but I'm surrounded by some absolutely wonderful and creative people (did I mention the owner designs all of the vintage -inspired dresses?)

You can check some designs of my new employer on the mainpage of the Amelie G website where they feature some beautiful photos of our dresses that were taken in my neck of the woods in New Orleans (the photo above was taken outside of La Crepe Nanou, featured in a previous post)!

and a tiny ps - I'm still designing stationery!  No worries everyone that was concerned -- I'm designing when I'm not working, so still be on the lookout in a few weeks for an update in the etsy store designs!!!

Sneak Preview

I've been hard at work lately mustering up a whole new collection of fold over cards.  By far the hardest part of this whole process has been nailing down prices and decent vendors.  Now that I've solidified those, the fun part - design- has finally been in full swing!

I've been inspired by the absolutely beautiful springtime here in NOLA, and it has thus driven me to create a new collection called Flora & Fauna (which is really just birds and flowers, for now).  Since I love my blog readers so much, I've decided to give you all a little visual snack in the form of a preview.  Remember: feedback and honest opinions are ALWAYS welcomed!

Cardinalis:

in honor of my fabulous home state of VA
Alba:
honestly, who sees cute little Sanderlings and doesn't smile?

Narcissus:
a design I did for my dear friend at notreallybloggingmaterial for her B-day.  Looks like I'm getting into the monogram creating business also!

Thats all for now, but please know that I'll have these designs plus a few more up on the etsy store for purchase within a few weeks.  Hope you all are having a wonderful week so far!
